The Commission on Cancer (CoC) and the American Joint Committee on Cancer (AJCC) are pleased to make this series of educational presentations available to cancer program team members throughout the United States. Working together, our organizations have developed programs that we believe will provide useful information to help enhance your facility’s programmatic resources and to enrich the educational foundation of the individuals involved in providing quality cancer care at your location.

Objectives

To provide educational programs that offer support and training specifically related to CoC and AJCC requirements.
To meet the increased demand for training and education that does not require travel.

Webcasts

The fee-based sessions are hosted online in their entirety with synchronized audio, slides, and a written transcript. Sessions can be reviewed at your own pace, you may start and stop whenever you choose, and you may view them as many times as often as you like. Click on the session's name for a detailed summary.

Continuing Education

All sessions offering credit require individuals to complete a post-test with 100% accuracy and a program evaluation form. Simply viewing a session does not make an individual eligible for CEs or CME.

Accreditation Statement

The American College of Surgeons is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to sponsor continuing medical education for physicians.

CME Credit

AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ are available as noted for each session. Physicians should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

Continuing Education Credit

The National Cancer Registrar's Association has awarded CEs for each session, unless otherwise noted. Participants should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

Disclosure Policy

In order to comply with the ACCME's Updated Standards for Commercial Support, The American College of Surgeons, as the accredited provider for this program, has implemented a new disclosure process to ensure that anyone who is in a position to control the content of the educational activity has disclosed all relevant financial relationships with any commercial interest as it pertains to the content of the presentation. ACS defines a "commercial interest" as any proprietary entity producing health care goods or services, with the exemption of non-profit or government organizations and non-health care related companies. The ACS considers "relevant" financial relationships as financial transactions (in any amount) occurring within the past 12 months that may create a conflict of interest.

The updated standards also require that ACS manage any reported conflict and eliminate the potential for bias during the session. The program committee members (if applicable) and speakers were contacted and the conflicts in the individual presentations have been managed to our satisfaction. However, if you perceive a bias, please advise us of the circumstances on the evaluation form.

Please note we have advised the speakers that it is their responsibility to disclose at the start of their session if they will be describing the use of a device, product, or drug that is not FDA approved or the off-label use of an approved device, product, or drug or unapproved usage.

The requirement for disclosure is not intended to imply any impropriety of such relationship, but simply to identify such relationships through full disclosure, and to allow the audience to form its own judgments regarding the sessions.
